Time for teletubbies, Time for teletubbies ..

I think this is new record for lack of posts from me.

Kayla has been sick with a cold/cough/fever, and is now just recovering. This age is the worst, since she can’t tell you what she wants/needs. She can be so darn stubborn sometimes. Right now she seems like she lacks energy and has no appetite yet the only way she is going to get better is by getting some food/nutrients in her. She refuses all food, and by all food I mean ALL foods, even her favorite fruits and vegetables. She even rejects milk now too. I don’t know what we can we do to get her to eat….its so fustrating….

night light

Kristin has made me so proud. Usually she is able to sleep through the night without having to go to the bathroom, but when she does need to go, she’ll yell out “Daddy!!! Daddy!!!! I need to go pottyyyyyyy!!” So I have to get out of bed, bring her to the restroom and wait for her to finish. Well, last week, we told her that she could go by herself and didn’t need to tell us if she needed to go. Then, the other night, we hear these little footsteps in the hallway. A light turns on, a minute goes by, then a flush. Light turns off, and the little footsteps are heard again. I’m so proud : )

Kayla has been sick since Thursday, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, the whole works. It's been off and on, but through it all, she still manages to act like a kid, running around, smiling, and laughing. Me on the other hand, I was bedridden all Saturday with all the same symptoms.

Kayla had a random vomit yesterday and got sent home, then vomited 2 more times at home.

Note to self: Do NOT give pomegranate juice to a vomiting child.

Funny thing is, she’s perfectly fine again. I don’t get it.

It seems like Kayla's vocabulary grew overnight. She's blabbering all kinds of words now, and can even say her own name. It's hilarious since she can't annunciate certain letters like 'C' and 'S'. She has this book, called "The Very Busy Spider", and at the end of the story, the spider catches a fly “just like that.” Kayla tries to say it, but it comes out “DUT DITE DAT!”

between who is more naughty.

Kayla really knows how to test our limits. We had Kristin trained to never enter the kitchen without being held until she was about 3 years old. We got Kayla to do the same thing, but today she just decided that she could walk into the kitchen. She started testing the waters a few days ago, putting one foot in, then observing our reaction. She's a clever one.

Kristin loves to blame Kayla for everything. When they play, Kristin ALWAYS brings out ALL the toys. She plays with them for a few minutes, then walks away and finds something else. Kayla comes along and starts playing with Kristin's leftovers. Kristin comes running back and takes the toys back, plays for a while, then loses interest again. When it's time to clean up, Kristin always blames Kayla for bringing the toys out.

THE CAT IN THE HAT

THE CAT IN THE HAT, originally uploaded by jwlphotography.

Kristin is growing up so fast. Just recently, I looked at her and still thought of her as my little baby, and with Kayla around, I can now see she is no longer that baby. The things she does, the way she acts, her attitude, her tantrums, the way she talks to us, she's like a little lady now. As cheesy as this sounds, I wish I could turn back time, and just hold her a little longer as a baby.

Tap

We signed Kristin up for tap class for the next 3 months. The first class started yesterday, but we couldn't make it for a few reasons, one of them being that Kristin didn't have the correct shoes. We went shopping for a pair yesterday and now Kristin won't take them off.

Kayla is coming down with something again, probably a cold. She's grumpy and won't eat her food.

I do not like green eggs and ham

I do not like them Sam, I am.

This is still one of Kristin's favorite books. OK, OK, it's one of my favorites to read to her too. This and 'Mr Brown can moo'.
